Strong municipal leadership for Oak Ridges includes building constructive relationships with representatives at every level of government.

I appreciated the opportunity to speak with our local Member of Parliament, Costas Menegakis. Although municipal and federal governments have different responsibilities, many community priorities require communication, advocacy and cooperation.

Issues involving infrastructure funding, community safety, economic development and support for local families can cross jurisdictional lines. Ward 1 needs a councillor who will bring our concerns forward, identify areas where governments can work together and ensure that Oak Ridges has a strong voice in important conversations.

Cooperation does not blur accountability. It helps representatives understand local needs, pursue available programs and funding, and work toward practical results for residents.

If elected as your Ward 1 Councillor, I will build respectful working relationships while always keeping the interests of Oak Ridges at the centre of my advocacy.
