Why Does the Sidewalk End on Bathurst?
A sidewalk should provide a safe, continuous route—not end suddenly and leave pedestrians with nowhere safe to continue.
While visiting the Oak Ridges Corridor Conservation Reserve, I followed the sidewalk along Bathurst Street and found that it simply stopped. This creates a concern for residents walking through the area, particularly families with children, seniors and people using mobility devices.
As Oak Ridges continues to grow, our basic infrastructure must keep pace. We need connected sidewalks, safer crossings, appropriate lighting and practical planning based on how residents actually move through our community.
